Contributing to creating a community free of sexual violence is everyone’s responsibility and opportunities to intervene and say no to a culture that accepts sexually violent behaviors and actions are all around us. Below are real stories from our own community members of ways they chose not to be a bystander, but to intervene and disrupt situations that may lead to sexual assault or harassment. Strategies for intervention can range from big to small and can include anything ranging from calling out a person making inappropriate jokes to helping someone escape a potentially unsafe situation safely.
